Who we are
Fosters Closet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children ages 0–18 entering foster care by providing essential items that help them transition into new placements with comfort and dignity.
We supply foster families with free clothing, diapers, toys, school supplies, baby gear, and furniture, reducing the financial strain that often comes with emergency placements.
Whether a child enters care with little more than the clothes they are wearing or a family receives a sudden placement late at night, Fosters Closet is here to help quickly, compassionately, and at no cost.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide free essential items to children entering foster care so they can transition into new placements with comfort, dignity, and stability. By supporting foster families with clothing, hygiene items, baby gear, school supplies, and other necessities, we help ensure no child enters care without the supplies they need.
Our Story
Fosters Closet was created from a simple belief: every child deserves to feel safe and cared for, especially during a foster placement transition.
Many children enter care with little to no belongings — sometimes only the clothes they are wearing.
Our team stepped up to fill this gap by offering immediate, no-cost support to foster families.
Governance
Fosters Closet is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for overseeing the organization’s mission, programs, and financial stewardship.
